I moved to Chicago almost fifteen years ago, in search of a community that would let me live my truth, a community that would truly see me as human not as a label, or stereo type. Chicago celebrated the LGBTQIA+ humanity within it then, and understood and championed the value we added to the community. This accepting intersectional Chicago culture has only become more rich, and vibrant, since then, and surely will continue to grow and flourish into the future. This flag is informed by our history while looking to our future, with the traditional rainbow represented in the stars, and our trans, and people of color, represented in the stripes. We are one community, filled with diversity, curiosity, and possibility. We bring so much wonder and potential to all Chicagoan's shared human journey. Chicago's future is bright and filled with color. My new series of pride clothing and accessories aims to help us all express our hope, our empathy, as one voice, of love, and acceptance.
